Eight new wood grain laminates and one edging that finally matches. Landing September.
Our laminate range has always excelled with solid colours, but left customers wanting something more exotic out in the cold. Introducing the exotic new members to Plyco.
The Eight
Alicante Oak, Cordoba Ash, Malaga Elm, Morella Oak, Pamplona Elm, Ronda Elm, Seville Oak and Valencia Oak. All named after Spanish towns by a company director not so secretly pining for retirement.
The range runs from Morella Oak, a pale limed oatmeal, down to Seville Oak, which is a properly dark walnut brown. Valencia Oak and Ronda Elm sit in the light warm middle and will do most of the work on most jobs. Cordoba Ash channels the now defunct Grey Fineline, and Malaga Elm more aligned with American Walnut. Pamplona Elm is your straight mid brown. Alicante Oak is the odd one, a khaki olive with a coarse, heavily textured grain that looks strange on a 100mm swatch and very good across three metres of wall.
All eight are straight, linear grains (no gymnastics across the sheet like our Retro Laminates). Practically, that means you need to keep grain direction in mind on doors and drawer fronts, and it means matching sheet to sheet is easy instead of a two hour sorting exercise on the floor of the workshop.
Same Decor, Four Products
This is the part worth reading twice. Every one of the eight is available as raw laminate, on birch plywood, on a lightweight caravan panel, and on a roll of edging. Same decor, same supplier, same press.

Decor Laminate: The bare HPL, 0.7mm, 2440 x 1220mm. For pressing onto your own substrate.

Decoply: Pressed onto Premium Birch Plywood in 12, 18, 24 and 30mm (plus 4, 6, 9 and 15mm made to order). This is tailored for benchtops, tabletops, counters, cabinetry, desks and shelving. Advertised thickness is the substrate, so add 1.5 to 2.0mm for the laminate before you plan your project.

Vanply: Pressed onto a lightweight BC Falcata core in 3, 12, 15 and 18mm. Wall and ceiling linings, cabinetry and shelving for caravans, tiny homes and anything else where somebody is counting kilos (keep in mind the 3mm is single sided).

Vanply Edging: Keeping it together with 100m rolls, 23mm x 1mm all unglued.
Nobody notices matching edging but everybody notices unmatched edging, usually with your project manager standing right there. The rolls are unglued so you will need an edge bander. If you have not got one, tick it on the cut to size form and we will run it here.
Over 100 New Products
Eight decors, four ranges (including Samples), every thickness we press them in. That is more than 100 new line items hitting the website in September. The warehouse team found out last week and have been very quiet since.
Pressed In Melbourne
All of it goes through our own plant, which matters less as a flag-waving exercise than as a lead time. Made to order thicknesses and cut to size stay measured in days. Nothing here is waiting on a container. The Decoply core is FSC certified Birch, Vanply core is FSC certified Falcata and the laminates are bonded with an E0 adhesive.
