Plywood pandemonium: new products, shipping changes, and the Strataply Shuffle.
Alright, wood warriors, brace yourselves. If plywood could have an identity crisis, this would be it. We've got rebrands, shipping nightmares, and a tonne of new products.
Laserply Packs: 900 x 600 Now Available
After the great shipping disaster of 2024 (where Couriers Please slapped on a $16.50 surcharge and backdated fees for all shipping of our 1200 x 600mm panels), we made some changes. We migrated fulfilment platforms, asked you what products you wanted and added a sh*tload more products under 100cm.
These changes have enabled us to restore our former competitive rates for shipping Australia wide and over you more products tailored for your specific machinery.
The result is our biggest Laserply update ever. This month, we're announcing 71 new Laserply products! For the first time at Plyco 900 x 600mm Laserply panels are now available in both single sheets and Laserply Packs.
Combined, this updates should give you more flexibility when choosing panels for your laser cutting machine without having to remortgage your shed.
Laserply Packs: The Artist Formerly Known as Craft Packs
In our endless quest to make things simpler (and avoid product names longer than a Bunnings sausage queue), we've rebranded Laserply Craft Packs to just Laserply Packs. This change brings this product in line with our poplar Micropanel Packs and Legnoply Packs in our expanding collection of laser cutting and engraving six packs.
We're still offering free shipping on laser cutting and engraving packs for orders over $200 ($500 for our Tasmanian friends across the strait). This includes our fancy new 900 x 600mm Laserply Packs!
Laserply Packs: New Flavours
To prove we're not just renaming things, we've also added Jarrah (600 x 300 x 3mm), Blackwood (600 x 300 x 2.5mm) and Hoop Pine to our lineup of prepackaged six-packs. The move comes hot on the heels of our announcement of 4mm Radiata and Basswood Laserply Packs in July.
Why add all these new product options? Let's just say our team have a soft spot for customer feedback and a weakness for exotic timber names.
Strataply & Quadro: Gone But Not Forgotten (Just Renamed)
Say goodbye to both Strataply and Quadro and hello to Veneered Plywood! That's right, we've merged our Strataply and Quadro products into an updated Veneered Plywood range. They're not dead, they just had a Gold Coast midlife crisis... a facelift and a cocaine habit.
That Blackwood Strataply you love? It's now Blackwood on Birch Plywood. Our Birch Plywood 1200 x 600mm handypanel? It's now Premium Birch Plywood. Revolutionary.
As part of this renaming ceremony, all full sheet (2440 x 1220mm) Veneered Plywood are now part of our PlyPal Program. That means members will get a juicy 12.5% discount. We've also expanded our thickness options - select species in full sheets now come in 24mm and 30mm. Because sometimes, size does matter.
You can find all these rebranded beauties in our Veneered Plywood collection on our website. Finding the right veneered plywood product for your project should now be even easier and we still have sample packs for those who like to try before they buy.
Why Should You Care?
Change is hard. But by simplifying our product lines and making names more intuitive, we hope you'll spend less time decoding our website and more time building the things you love with our plywood.
If you've got questions, concerns, or just want to chat about the existential nature of plywood (it happens more often than you'd think), give us a shout.
