How to Purchase Plywood Safely During Victoria’s Stage 4 Lockdown

Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’re probably aware of the current situation in Victoria. Because of the increased level of restrictions many businesses have been forced to cease operations, or drastically alter how they operate for the time being.

Thankfully, Plyco falls into the second camp, meaning we can still supply all your plywood needs, but with a number of alterations to the usual status quo. To help keep all of our dedicated customers in the loop, and to make your next order go as smoothly as possible, we’ve put together this guide to explain how to purchase plywood safely with Plyco.

The Ground Rules

Before we go into more depth about how to purchase your plywood in compliance with the new COVID-19 restrictions, it’s important that we lay down some very important ground rules. While we are privileged to still be open during this uncertain time we need your help and cooperation to make sure everything runs smoothly and safely.

Firstly, we ask that every customer complies with the guidelines put in place by the Victorian Government. This means wearing a face mask at all times, maintaining social distancing, staying home if you feel unwell, and not travelling more than 5kms unless for work or essential reasons. You will be temperature checked upon arrival to make sure you do not have a fever. Plyco reserves the right to refuse service to any customer who fails to abide by these rules and restrictions.

Long Distance Relationship

Until further notice, Plyco’s showrooms are off limits to customers. This means you can no longer browse our products at your leisure and cannot purchase things over the counter. While we love having customers drop by, we have three convenient alternatives for placing your order.

To get the ball rolling, place your order over the phone, via email, or through our online store. We ask that every single customer does this in advance, rather than showing up and trying to place an order on the spot. Ordering through these three methods maximises social distancing and ensures you’re spending the least amount of time around Plyco employees as possible.

Pick Up Procedures

Once you have placed your order and it’s all ready for you, you have two options. The first, and most recommended option, is to get the order delivered. Our fleet of trucks are still making deliveries every single day, so you won’t have to worry about any disruptions or delays.

However, if you’re able to comply with government guidelines, it’s also possible to take advantage of Click & Collect at Plyco. In order to do this you need to make sure you’re following all of the rules we mentioned earlier, as well as the procedures and protocols we have recently implemented.

When you arrive at Plyco to pick up your Click and Collect order, we ask that you park outside of the roller door and proceed to the check-in point where you’ll be asked to fill out your details in our log book. Once this is completed, one of our staff members will confirm your order with you and allow you to drive into the designated parking bays in our warehouse. After parking inside our staff will bring your order to you. You’ll then have the option of loading the sheets yourself, or our staff will load it into your car.

By following all of these rules in conjunction with the guidelines set by the Victorian Government, we can keep our staff members’ exposure to other people to an absolute minimum. This way we help stop the spread, while still allowing you to work on those incredible plywood projects!

We greatly appreciate everyone’s cooperation during this very tough time and ask customers to be patient as we get a handle on this brand new way of operating. If you have any questions regarding our current operations please give us a call or send us an email.
